Project Information
Stoura Offshore Wind Farm, currently in early stage development, is located off the East coast of Shetland. The installed capacity of the windfarm is estimated to be 500MW.
Stoura Offshore Wind Farm is located off the East coast of Shetland, in an area of seabed identified in the Scottish Government’s Sectoral Marine Plan for Offshore Wind. The lease option was awarded to ESB in 2022 by Crown Estate Scotland through the ScotWind process.
The site is located approximately 40km from Shetland where the water depth is between 100m and 130m. Once operational, we estimate that Stoura Offshore Wind Farm will produce up to 500MW of clean electricity, enough energy to power 350,000 Scottish households.
